I graduated with honors from the Pediatric Faculty of the Ural State Medical Academy. I was lucky to study under professors for whom pediatrics was truly a life’s calling. As a young resident training at the Department of Propaedeutics of Childhood Diseases, I participated in preventive health checkups at kindergartens and schools, assessing children’s overall health. We organized seminars for parents on proper nutrition and visited cities with major metallurgical industries to study the impact of environmental pollutants on children’s health. At that time, prevention and a holistic approach to children's health were top priorities in pediatrics. Later, I specialized in pediatric endocrinology and defended my PhD thesis in this field. Life gave me the opportunity to study and work in France, where I gained specialization in pediatric endocrinology and diabetology, along with invaluable experience working as a pediatric endocrinologist at the University Clinic in Strasbourg. Upon returning to Russia with this new knowledge, I began working as a pediatrician at the European Medical Center in Moscow — one of the country’s leading clinics, with advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities and a highly professional team. Over time, I started noticing that in today’s medical environment, doctors increasingly follow a "symptom-diagnosis-medication" algorithm, focusing primarily on symptom management. Medications may suppress symptoms, but the root causes and contributing factors often remain in the background — pushing the body toward repeated relapses that follow the same pattern. In a standard appointment, the physician simply doesn’t have enough time for a thorough assessment and analysis of a child’s medical history, nutritional habits, lifestyle, emotional well-being, or physical activity.
